About us

Where Loving God Meets Living Life

Living Life Church exists for everyone.  We believe that you don't have to get cleaned up to come to church.  In fact, we believe it so much that we made it our mission statement:

"We are a gathering of imperfect people, connecting other imperfect people to the perfect love of God."

We believe that ministry should be that simple.  We exist to Love God and Love People.

Who is Living Life Church for?   You!!

  • Do You think the church is judgmental?

  • Are you wanting to learn more about church, but don’t know where to start?

  • Are you afraid you don’t have the right clothes to wear?

Our Story:

Have you ever been in a moment where you didn't know exactly what was coming next?  Or better yet you didn't have any idea what god's future plans were for you?  That's exactly where the story of living life church started.  Sometimes even pastors are left scratching their heads with what God has planned for their lives.

In January of 2016, God was wrestling with Joey and Jeff about starting a work together in Western Michigan.  To be perfectly honest It was one of those moments where they didn't know exactly what God had in store, but they felt Him calling them to something.  This story starts back in 2004 when Joey and Jeff (father and son), decided to start a church in the town of Frankfort, IN.  God placed a call on their lives to teach, preach, and sing the Gospel in a town that was desperately seeking after Him.  They ministered together for 10 years until God called Joey to West Michigan and Jeff back home to Illinois to be closer to his ailing mother.  During the next 3 years, God was again looking to the future of what it would hold for these two.  In January of 2016, Joey left a local church in West Michigan and began to question the calling on his life.  It just so happens, that Jeff was wrestling with the same question back in  Illinois.  After much prayer, and wrestling with God, they knew that He was calling them to work together again to reach people.  So, in January 2016, in the basement of Joey and Carly's home, they decided to put their feet in the water to see what would happen.  Their first Sunday, which they called "the gathering," had over 50 people in attendance.  It was then that they knew it was time to press forward with the plan God had been orchestrating.  The story is still being written!

From Joey:

When Living Life Church began, we knew we wanted it to be different than what we had experienced before.  We wanted to love on people right where they were at in their lives.  We didn't want them to feel like they had to clean up their lives before coming to church.  We just wanted to love on them and come alongside of them and show them what life could be like with Christ.  God has given us this opportunity and it has been a great one.  He has blessed this church immensely with a number of talented people who are the hardest working volunteers I've ever been a part of.  Week-in and week-out,we have a crew that pours their souls into ministering to the people of Muskegon county.  I'm so grateful to be a part of what God is doing at Living Life Church!
